Where Do I Get My Required Text books?
The costs of text books are not included in tuition. Each student must acquire their own books and budget for them accordingly. Recognizing that books are expensive, MSTM has carefully chosen only those that will benefit students the most. Book costs can exceed $300.00. Students are encouraged to purchase used texts and take advantage of the tremendous savings used books offer over new ones. Internet research may take the place of textbooks.
A recommend book list is included with the student information packet plus a listing of resources from which to purchase them.
What If I Need More Time To Complete My Studies?
MSTM’s programs are formatted to be completed within a specific time period. Each student is given a EDC (estimated date of completion) date that is assessed at the time of enrollment. If a student needs more time to complete a program, arrangements for course extensions are available for 6 months. Extensions are assessed a separate fee.
Students are also allotted a free 6 month "leave of absence". This allows a large measure of flexibility to meet unforeseen changing circumstances. Students find this provision extremely useful!
Who May Attend the Annual Midwifery Skills Workshops & Retreats?
The Midwifery skills workshops are designed to meet the instruction
and assessment needs of MSTM students but anyone interested in attending may
register for workshop weekends (workshop fees are non-refundable).
There is limited space, however, and MSTM students receive first preference.
Workshop Retreats are generally held exclusively for Staff and Administrators and MSTM students.
Is a Correspondence Course a Legitimate Route of Study?
Correspondence programs are highly successful! Today, these types of programs are also referred to as "distance learning". Many major U.S. Universities offer courses by Correspondence and they are becoming increasingly more popular.
