New MSTM School Building Design
After reviewing many architectural plans, a new school building design has been accepted by Michigan School of Traditional Midwifery planning committee.
Pictured above is an artistic interpretation of the draft of our new building that will begin to take shape in 2006.
Though simple, this design reflects the dignity and pride felt by all those who have worked so hard to help realize the dream of a school dedicated to the study of Traditional Midwifery and the vocation of advocacy for natural childbirth and breastfeeding. The structure is also carefully designed with future additions in mind.
MSTM is the first school of its kind in the world ever instituted for the study of midwifery as a vocational art and not a medical science and as we grow and meet the challenges of the future, we hope to keep close and hold dear both our humble roots from almost 2 decades ago and our eager inexhaustible enthusiasm for the rights of women to define and claim birth for themselves.
News and updates will be featured on MSTM’s website along with a pictorial essay as the building progresses.
