This is a two year course of study that combines the advantages of correspondence
learning with workshops or an optional workshop waiver. Through correspondence,
foundations of basic academic principles are explored, analyzed and studied.
Submitted work and research projects are evaluated, progress is monitored through
periodic closed book self-assessment work sheets and many hands-on clinical skills are
taught, evaluated and individually “checked off”, providing a permanent record during the
annual workshops. Topics of study include but are not limited to:
Basic anatomy & physiology
Nutrition during pregnancy
Pregnancy & Birth
The Art of Midwifery Care
Clinical applications of Midwifery practice
